It was in Maria Popova's Marginalian which I have read for years where I first learned of Susan Cain's Bitter-sweet (and later Quiet) after my wife died suddenly. Susan's book had much to do with my getting through it all. In her "Teachings" on my refrigerator door "We transcend grief only when we realize how connected we are with all the other humans who struggle to transcend theirs." I could go on...

Goosebumps. I’m so sorry for your loss, Richard (and grateful that Bittersweet could have helped a little).

This sounds wonderful… unfortunately 10:00 a.m. on Sundays is right in the middle of my biggest workday.... is it possible to take them in later (if we are paid subscribers)?

Yes! We always email out the replays, about a week later, and you can watch and listen any time you’d like.

So excited about the your upcoming line-up. Sharon Salzberg was my first introduction to mindfulness meditation 25 years ago. It will be wonderful to be there for that connection. And I’m thrilled for the chance to meet Suleika too. Thank you for making my day, my week, my year.

I can remember always wanting to be a nurse. When the Guidance counselor at Cathedral H. S. Called me in , I told her there wasn’t enough money to go to college, she asked, What did I want to be? A nurse. So she suggested a hospital

school of nursing: St. Mary’s. And I applied, had great recommendation letters, and spent 3 yrs. there, and loved almost every minute of it. I was part of a group, belonged, and made life-long friends.

If I can stop one heart from breaking,

I shall not live in vain,

If I can ease one life the aching

Or cool one pain or help one fainting robin

Unto his nest again,

I shall not live in vain.

At some point you might consider a "Chat" with Maria Popova (The Marginalian). The two of you create an intense and deeply reflective and mindful space.

You are too lovely to attend so thoughtfully to all the replies. It really did give me a special joy to see my Susan Cain "like" 💜

I hope our community grows to such numbers that you are able to delegate "like" duties to a trusted, like-minded representative 🥰 !*(*emoji translation: I'm available! Fluent in emoji would be a job requirement, happily a box I check off.)

Seriously, thank you for being you. Just love.
