Thank you, Susan. This year I did not feel like celebrating so I honored that sentiment. No holiday movies or music; the decorations and my vintage tinsel tree didn’t come out (and neither did I, lol).
But I did have some blessings despite my aversion to celebrating this year —some friends and family called or sent texts (usually I initiate; it was nice to free myself this year). Later I had some lovely quiet time to make a hand illustrated t-shirt and card for my bestie. Grateful for this community…thank you, Susan. Thank you ALL. 💕
Thank you for this. I have felt such a part of a community of like minded people during this year with your group, and I am so grateful for that blessing. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season.
I agree it’s a very beautiful painting very different. I love the colors and the application of paint. Have a wonderful Christmas.
I love your book Quiet. I read it when it first came out. It changed my outlook on things and I kept recommending it to everybody around me. I don’t know if anyone else read it but I was way big on it. When I was a teacher, I asked the principal to assign it as a summer teacher read- but it never happened, not because your book wasn’t great. It’s because I’m the art teacher and they don’t necessarily listen to people like me (the quiet creative ones like me).
I applied some of your ideas and practices in the classroom to help introverts. The teachers were always assigning kids into groups and I read that chapter of yours about how that is not always a good thing, so I made sure that some children could work individually if they wanted to. I just thought I’d share how you inspired me to honor the introverts and also the extroverts.
I love to hear about this, thank you Susan! (And, I'm sorry your principal didn't listen to the art teachers. The good thing is that many schools have read the book or are reading it - so I hope there will be changes, slowly, slowly.)
Thanks, Susan and wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas. Thank you for your continual blessing to us, your quiet multitude, with such love and generosity.
Thank you Susan for this wonderful blessing - even better as I’m already reading this on Christmas Day here in New Zealand. Sending love, blessings and positive vibes not just to you and your family Susan, but also to everyone here in the Quiet/ Bitttersweet community. Have a great holidays everyone!
This painting is Magnificent, thank you 😍🫶🏻
