More art is welcome! I discovered Odilon Redon through his pastelles 30 years ago. I could barely leave Musee d'Orsay. When there was a large exhibition in Copenhagen I went three times, and I fell in love with his graphic art, like the hollow tree from The Temptations of Saint Antoine.
These are wonderful paintings! I enjoy being introduced to new artists. The painting called - “The Yellow Sail, Guardians of the Soul” spoke to me. In the yoga tradition, it is believed when you die you standby the banks of the river to wait for your love ones that have passed before you to pick you up and you all float to the ocean of oneness. This is where you reach transcendence to your higher power or higher self. 😊
Sometime I lay close my eyes consciously floating myself off into a dream, a deep love, a place, vision where I want to be, my spirit float away from myself as the depths of my longing floats deeper into my heartlove... Wish you all love not just a dream but real love to be forever present in your lives it most greatest treasure we can give one another ❤️ Wanderer,
These posts are lovely. Visual art has always been a great balm for me, particularly works be artists such as Redon. The mystical-intellectual resonates with me, as I find myself to always straddle these realms.
I very much enjoyed this post, so yes, let's keep them coming! The ones that spoke to me are Andromeda and Underwater Vision.
Andromeda hit me hard, as lately I've been feeling chained to something I want to be free from, and I'm holding on to hope that it will arrive, like an ascension to a more joyful space. The colors in that painting are so bold and bright, which tapped into my feelings of hope--the bold escape and the light that is on the other side.
Underwater Vision speaks to me so deeply, as I love the ocean. The colors and hues in that painting pull me in and take me to that special place that is where I find my peace.
I loved learning about Redon and I especially love the ethereal nature of his work. I'd also love to learn more about other artists who explore the mystical-intellectual domain. One of my personal favourites is Swedish artist and mystic, Hilma af Klint. Some artists seem to have ability to tap into other dimensions, which luckily, we can visit through their art. Thanks for a visually, beautiful and inspiring post Susan.
loved this letter, the paintings and background information! thank you so much for sharing.
I always found O. Redon a very special artist, for the colour composition, the symbolic, the atmosphere that is created. It's something to be lost in. . . - the ones you posted are beautiful, dreamy, others I've seen are darker, sometimes a bit scary.
I very much like to go to exhibitions, look at art in a museum, and very often have noticed that what makes me like it or not, is not something rational, analytical or logical - but indeed felt, and sometimes it hard to put it into words.
I've never seen any of the ones you posted before - some of them seem like remnants from older times, a (roman) fresco of which only parts remain, earthy, natural colours, realistic shapes, but then there's a special light, the sparkle from the box in the boat etc. - intriguing and beautiful - a sign from a different world? an angel?
I guess, it's clear that the answer to you second and third question is yes! I'd love to read / see more of that.
Absolutely loved this sharing! The colors, the spirituality, the creativity, all of it. Please do continue to share more of this type of gorgeous art and thoughts. Thank you!
More such loveliness anytime, please, Susan -- wondrous to feel how these gentle, wise works tug at my own depths, stirring neglected roots to bloom anew from beneath the sorrows and frets of today's doings --
I enjoyed these posts and paintings and interested in exploring the mystical - intellectual domain.
I loved the pictures and the comments! A wonderful start to my day!

Yes, please keep these coming
Yes absolutely, please keep these coming, both highlighting single artists and mystical-intellectual topics.
