Our Candlelight Chat with Professor Gary Saul Morson - here's the replay video (including a treasure trove of a reading list)
On Anna Karenina, The Gulag Archipelago, and beyond
Dear all,
If you attended our Candlelight Chat this past Sunday, in which we were treated to pearl after pearl of insight from Professor Gary Saul Morson, a famous scholar of Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Chekhov and beyond - I hope you loved it as much as I did.
And, if you couldn’t attend, or if you’d like to watch it again, below is the replay video!
PLUS - many of you asked Professor GSM for a reading list, and he sent me one (below) to share with you. It includes not only titles and authors, but also the names of the best translators because, as he wrote to me, “It is very VERY important to use the right translations. It really makes a BIG difference.”
If you have any interest in this literature, you won’t believe what a treasure trove this list is (and how extensive it is - it will give you enough excellent reading to last many lifetimes).
And now, here’s the replay video of our Candlelight Chat from this past Sunday, plus Professor GSM’s curated reading list:
