The secret to so many good things - choosing the right work; finding your creative catalyst; being able to love - is to first love your own company. If you always have yourself for company, you can give love more freely. You're less likely to cling to the wrong relationships (frenemies, doomed romances), or to resist love's natural changes (e.g., a child’s growing independence).
If you love your own company, you’re more likely to follow interesting new pathways (because you rely on your own instincts, and if you take a wrong turn, you’re not concerned that you’ll be stranded out there by yourself).
