How to shift your emotional weather
We humans seem to live in our own emotional ecosystems. Some people are lucky to reside mostly in Tuscany or San Diego; others find themselves stranded in Siberia. Still others travel from one corner of the emotional globe to the other, often a few times a day.
A lot of the time, though, we’re not sure why we’ve wound up in one emotional locale or another. Which is where my friend, the psychologist and researcher Ethan Kross, comes in. Ethan is one of the world’s leading experts on controlling the conscious mind and managing emotions. And he shows that it’s possible to consciously shift our emotional states, by using simple, science-backed tools to change our emotional weather systems.
